Nigel Farage Accuses Teachers of ‘Indoctrinating Children’ on Racial Topics

Nigel Farage has asserted that educators would initiate walkouts within weeks a Reform UK election victory, charging that they are “poisoning our kids” by instructing children that black pupils are victims and Caucasian students are perpetrators.

At a gathering for a Michigan-based religious institution, the politician expressed his viewpoint on British schools, claiming that the “radical left-wing” had “taken over schooling”.

“I expect a walkout by educators very quickly after winning the next general election,” Farage commented in response to questions.

“They are corrupting young minds. They instruct children to feel guilt about their nation. They are telling little Johnny, who’s eight, who is black that he is oppressed and a white child of the same age that he is an oppressor. They create division, instead of fostering unity. They are feeding this harmful mindset.”

Reacting to Farage’s claims, Daniel Kebede dismissed the idea that the schools were under Marxist influence as “absurd”. Kebede noted that any strikes must relate to educators’ working conditions, and questioned whether the party would target these right after taking office.

“The politician has crafted his political career on coded rhetoric and currently, similar to other figures, he is lining up teachers and their organizations for a conflict,” the union leader said.

“This is highly reckless. I don’t – and nor does my union – push critical race theory as he claims … Should he become prime minister he would sell out our public services, including education … and the outcome would be catastrophic for education and children.”

The party, which is leading the polls by a significant margin, has not set out much detail on its educational plans and does not appear to have designated an education lead.

However, Farage’s remarks suggested the party would overhaul the educational framework. Farage declared: “We face an enormous task with schooling – absolutely herculean. Moreover, it won’t happen quickly; it will take us years, a long-term effort to reform.”

He stated that younger generations are receptive to critical thinking, but millennials were “absolutely hopeless”.

Paying tribute to Charlie Kirk, he commented: “My goal for schooling is to foster independent thought – to educate individuals that there are two points of view and you make up your own mind as opposed to current practices where one is virtuous and one is evil. This is a huge undertaking in both Britain and America.”

Reform has previously clashed with a major educators’ organization, after Kebede called the party “extremist and prejudiced” and dismissed Farage as “a poundshop Donald Trump”.

The politician has charged Kebede of being “a self-declared Marxist” … an individual intent that young minds be corrupted through education, their minds should be poisoned about everything to do with this country” and has argued that the union is trying to indoctrinate teenagers against Reform.

Roughly a million individuals work in schools in the UK, with educators comprising half and the remainder being assistants and administrative personnel. The leading teachers’ organization has about 450,000 members.

National strikes over teacher pay and conditions in 2023 caused widespread disruption in educational institutions and extensive missed instruction for children.

At the US event, the Reform leader also vowed to promote the digital courses of the institution in the UK. He stated such groups were “part of the fightback”, adding that: “I am serious. I will help garner hundreds of thousands, if not millions of youth to these educational programs. I pledge this now and I’ll do that.”

The college, a religious educational establishment, offers free courses. According to its online description: “Comprehensive learning is vital for well-being and to perpetuate the blessings of freedom. The college furnishes these excellent programs for no charge to all who wish to learn.”
