The Grave Allegations The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of dozens of sexual offences – comprising acts against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 and 2021. One senior CPS official commented, “Our prosecutors have diligently worked to assist a detailed and complex investigation, meticulously examining the available evidence to determine that there is a strong case to bring the case to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.” Scope of the Investigation The charges come after what police called a “complex investigation” into alleged assaults at two hospitals: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital. The defendant is scheduled to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th. List of Offences The charging documents said the forty-five charges comprise: 15 counts of sexual assault. Seventeen counts of penetrative assault. Nine counts of sexual assault of a child under 13. Three counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration. 1 count of attempting to assault by penetration. Police are urging individuals with information to get in touch with the investigating team.
